Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said: إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَيُمْلِي لِلظَّالِمِ حَتَّى إِذَا أَخَذَهُ لَمْ يُفْلِتْهُ Allah gives respite to the oppressor, but when He takes him over, He never releases him. Sahih al-Bukhari 4686
