This paper is an analysis of chapter 23 verses 12 to 14 of the Qur’an in light of modern embryology. This study will provide a linguistic breakdown of the relevant verses and correlate these linguistic items to modern science. To ensure a comprehensive understanding of this study, an overview of qur’anic exegesis will be provided to appreciate how the Qur’an is made accessible and intelligible to the reader. This study will also address various contentions, which attempt to challenge the credibility of the qur’anic discourse and its concurrence with modern embryology. In chapter 23 verses 12 to 14 the Qur’an provides eight meaningful points describing the process of the developing human embryo:

We created man from an essence of clay, then We placed him as a drop of fluid in a safe place. Then We made that drop of fluid into a clinging form, and then We made that form into a lump of flesh, and We made that lump into bones, and We clothed those bones with flesh, and later We made him into other forms. संछिप्त विवरण: इस्लाम के अनुयायी मुसलमानों का मानना है कि कुर्आन करीम अल्लाह का वचन – कलाम – है, जिसे उसने वह्य –प्रकाशना- के माध्यम से अपने अंतिम संदेष्टा मुहम्मद सल्लल्लाहु अलैहि व सल्लम पर अवतिरत किया है, जिसमें रहती दुनिया तक सर्व मानवजाति के लिए मार्ग दर्शन और निर्देश मौजूद है। चूँकि क़ुर्आन का संदेश सभी समय और स्थानों के लिए है, इसलिए इसे हर युगीन समानता के अनुसार होना चाहिये, तो क्या क़ुरआन इस कसौटी पर पूरा उतरता है ? प्रस्तुत शोध-पत्र में मुसलमानों के इस विश्वास का वस्तुगत विश्लेषण पेश किया गया है, जो क़ुर्आन के वह्य –ईश्वरवाणी- द्वारा अवतरित होने की प्रामाणिकता को वैज्ञानिक अनुसंधान के आलोक में स्थापित करती है। क़ुर्आन स्वयं एक चमत्कार है जिसने सर्व संसार वालों को चुनौती दी है कि यदि उन्हें इसके बारे संदेह है तो वे सब मिलकर उसके समान एक सूरत (कुछ छंद) ही लाकर दिखाएं ! और अभी भी यह चुनौती पुनर्जीवन के दिन तक बरकरार है। इसी प्रकार क़ुर्आन ने अनेक वैज्ञानिक वास्तविकताओं और तथ्यों की ओर संकेत किया है जिन्हें आधुनिक विज्ञान ने वर्तमान समय में शत प्रतिशत यथार्थ सिद्ध किया है और उनकी पुष्टि की है। यह सब दर्शाता है कि कुर्आन अल्लाह सर्वशक्तिमान द्वारा अवतरित एक सत्य चमत्कारीय ग्रंथ है जिसे समस्त मानव जाति के मार्गदर्शन और कल्याण के लिए अवतरित किया गया है।
