مختصر بیان: سیرت حضرت امیر معاویہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ : حضرت مولانا محمد نافع صاحب کو اللہ تعالیٰ نے اس بات کی خصوصی توفیق عطا فرمائی ہے کہ انھوں نے اپنی متعدد تالیفات کے ذریعے سے حضرات صحابہ کرام کے حقیقی سیرت و کردار کو مستحکم علمی اور تاریخی دلائل کے ساتھ واضح فرمایا ہے۔ جن انصاف نا آشنا حلقوں نے ان حضرات پر طرح طرح کے اعتراضات وارد کیے ہیں ان کا شافی اور اطمینان بخش جواب دیا ہے اور حضرات صحابہ کرام کے درمیان جو علمی اور سیاسی اختلافات پیش آئے، ان کے حقیقی اسباب کی دلنشیں وضاحت فرمائی۔ حضرت معاویہ ان صحابہ کرام میں سے ہیں جن کے خلاف اعتراضات و مطاعن کے ترکش سے کوئی تیر بچا کر نہیں رکھا گیا۔ زیر تبصرہ کتاب "سیرت امیر معاویہ رضی اللہ عنہ" میں حضرت مولانا محمد نافع صاحب نے ان کی سیرت کے حقیقی روشن پہلوؤں کو مضبوط دلائل کے ساتھ اجاگر کیا ہے۔ پہلی جلد کے پہلے حصے میں حضرت معاویہ کے سوانح، عہد رسالت میں ان کے منصب و مقام اور کارنامے اور ان کے مناقب کی احادیث کو پوری تحقیق کے ساتھ بیان کیا ہے۔ دوسرے حصے میں حضرات خلفائے ثلاثہ کے عہد مبارک میں حضرت معاویہ کی خدمات اور دیگر کارناموں پر روشنی ڈالی گئی ہے۔ تیسرے حصے میں حضرت عثمان کی شہادت کے بعد کے واقعات زیر بحث لائے گئےہیں۔ چوتھے اور آخری حصے میں فاضل مؤلف نے حضرت معاویہ کے عہد خلافت کے کارناموں، فتوحات، ان کے قائم کیے ہوئے انتظامی ڈھانچے، ان کی رفاہی اور ترقیاتی خدمات، ان کی علمی کاوشوں، ان کے مکارم اخلاق اور اہل بیت کے ساتھ خوشگوار تعلقات کا ذکر ہے۔ آخر میں رسول اقدسﷺ کے ساتھ ان کے محبت کے مظاہر اور ان کے بارے میں اکابر امت کی آراء نہایت تفصیل اور استقصا کے ساتھ پیش کی ہیں۔ کاتب وحی حضرت امیر معاویہ رضی اللہ عنہ کے حوالے سے "روافض" و" خوارج "کے بے بنیاد اعتراضات اور پروپیگنڈے سے بچنے کے لیے اس کتاب کا ہر ایمان والے شخص کے گھر میں ہونا ضروری ہے

عن ابن عباس رضي الله عنهما قال قدم رسول الله صلی الله عليه وسلم المدينة فوجد اليهود يصومون يوم عاشورا فسلوا عن ذلک فقالوا هذا اليوم الذي أظهر الله فيه موسی وبني إسرايل علی فرعون فنحن نصومه تعظيما له فقال النبي صلی الله عليه وسلم نحن أولی بموسی منکم فأمر بصومه
Ibn Abbas (Allah be pleased with both of them) reported that when Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) came to Medina, he found the Jews observing the fast on the day of Ashura. They (the Jews) were asked about it and they said: It is the day on which Allah granted victory to Moses and (his people) Bani Isra'il over the Pharaoh and we observe fast out of gratitude to Him. Upon this the Apostle of Allah (may peace be upon him) said: We have a closer connection with Moses than you have, and he commanded to observe fast on this day.
حضرت ابن عباس رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما سے روایت ہے فرمایا کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم مدینہ تشریف لائے تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے یہودیوں کو عاشورہ کے دن روزہ رکھتے ہوئے پایا تو لوگوں نے ان سے اس روزے کے بارے میں پوچھا تو وہ کہنے لگے کہ یہ وہ دن ہے کہ جس میں اللہ تعالیٰ نے حضرت موسیٰ علیہ السلام کو اور بنی اسرائیل کو فرعون پر غلبہ عطا فرمایا تھا تو ہم اس دن کی عظمت کی وجہ سے روزہ رکھتے ہیں تو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ ہم تم سے زیادہ حضرت موسیٰ علیہ السلام کے قریب ہیں تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے اس روزے کا حکم فرمایا۔

Reminding the wise people with the merits of Muharram and ‘Ashura

 

In the name of Allah the Most Gracious the Most merciful

 

Merits of Muharram:

 

 

Ibn Al-Jawzy (may Allah mercy him) said: “Brothers (may Allah mercy you), know that Muharram is honorable month, and it is called Muharram (i.e. forbidden) because it was forbidden to fight in it.” (At-Tabsirah: 2/6).

 

It is one of the sacred months which Allah almighty said about them: {Verily, the number of months with Allâh is twelve months (in a year), so was it ordained by Allâh on the Day when He created the heavens and the earth; of them four are Sacred (i.e. the 1st, the 7th, the 11th and the 12th months of the Islâmic calendar). That is the right religion, so wrong not yourselves therein, and fight against the Mushrikûn (polytheists, pagans, idolaters, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allâh) collectively as they fight against you collectively. But know that Allâh is with those who are Al-Muttaqûn (the pious)} [At-Tawbah 9:36].

 

{إِنَّ عِدَّةَ الشُّهُورِ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ اثْنَا عَشَرَ شَهْرًا فِي كِتَابِ اللَّهِ يَوْمَ خَلَقَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ مِنْهَا أَرْبَعَةٌ حُرُمٌ ذَلِكَ الدِّينُ الْقَيِّمُ فَلَا تَظْلِمُوا فِيهِنَّ أَنْفُسَكُمْ وَقَاتِلُوا الْمُشْرِكِينَ كَافَّةً كَمَا يُقَاتِلُونَكُمْ كَافَّةً وَاعْلَمُوا أَنَّ اللَّهَ مَعَ الْمُتَّقِينَ} التوبة: 36

 

 

Transliteration: Inna AAiddata alshshuhoori AAinda Allahi ithna AAashara shahran fee kitabi Allahi yawma khalaqa alssamawati waalarda minha arbaAAatun hurumun thalika alddeenu alqayyimu fala tathlimoo feehinna anfusakum waqatiloo almushrikeena kaffatan kamayuqatiloonakum kaffatan waiAAlamoo anna Allaha maAAa almuttaqeena

 

Al-Qurtuby said: “Allah Almighty mentioned the sacred four months in specific and forbade injustice in them as a kind of honor to them, although injustice is forbidden in all times.”

 

 

And he said about His saying {so wrong not yourselves therein} that it means “not to wrong yourselves therein by committing sins, because when Allah Almighty honors something from one aspect, it gains one sanctity; however, when He honors it from two, or more, aspects, its sanctity becomes multiplex. Therefore, Allah multiplies punishment in it for doing evil deed as He multiplies the reward in it for doing good deed. The person who obeys Allah in the sacred month in sacred city is not like the one who obeyed Him in the lawful month in the sacred city. And the person who obeys Him in the lawful month in the sacred city is not like the one who obeyed Him in lawful month in lawful city.” (Al-Jami’ Li Ahkam Al-Quran: 8/134)

 

Fasting Muharram:

 

The merits of Muharram include what is reported by Muslim on the authority of Abu Hurayra (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (prayers and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “The best fasting after the month of Ramadan is the month of Allah that you call it Muharram.”

 

«أَفْضَلُ الصِّيَامِ بَعْدَ رَمَضَانَ شَهْرُ اللَّهِ الْمُحَرَّمُ وَأَفْضَلُ الصَّلَاةِ بَعْدَ الْفَرِيضَةِ صَلَاةُ اللَّيْلِ» رواه مسلم

 

 

An-Nawawy said: “This is a declaration for its being the best months to observe fasting in it.” (Sharh Muslim: 7/296).

 

And Ibn Rajab said: “This Hadeeth declares frankly that the best voluntary fasting after Ramadan is to fast the month of Allah, Muharram … However, it might be said that the Prophet (prayers and peace of Allah be upon him) used to fast the month of Sha’ban, and it is not reported that he used to fast Muharram; rather he used to fast ‘Ashura Day only, and his saying in the last year (of his life): “If I lived till the next year, I would fast the ninth day (of Muharram)” [reported by Muslim], means that he did not use to fast before that.

 

«فَإِذَا كَانَ الْعَامُ الْمُقْبِلُ إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ صُمْنَا الْيَوْمَ التَّاسِعَ» رواه مسلم

 

People answered this question with weak answers, and it became clear to me (and Allah knows best) that the voluntary fasting is two kinds:

 

First: Absolute voluntary fasting, and the best of this kind is fasting Muharram as the best voluntary prayer is praying night prayer.
